Hello everyone! I'm Michelle G, an artist who is fairly new to the blogging scene, but I've drawn inspiration from some incredible artists I follow. I'm also a huge fan of "Harriet the Spy" and "Sex and the City."
For those who may not be millennials, "Harriet the Spy" is a film adapted from a cherished children’s novel by Louise Fitzhugh, published in 1964. It's celebrated as "a milestone in children's literature" and recognized as a "classic."
As a child, I was enchanted by Harriet throughout the film. Her curiosity was contagious, and I found her fearless exploration of the world around her incredibly relatable. I also resonate with the feeling of being misunderstood by many and deeply loved by those I trust. Even now, whenever I hear James Brown's "Get Up Offa That Thing," I can vividly imagine Harriet and her friends energetically performing on the school stage in their colorful costumes. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch!
As a preteen, I would sneak and watch "Sex and the City" because I adored Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, who reprised her role in the films "Sex and the City" and "Sex and the City 2," as well as the HBO Max series "And Just Like That." I loved it, especially with one of my favorite actresses, Nicole Ari Parker staring in it, this is a definite must-see. Let's just say I binge-watched the show in about a week! I still need to catch up on "The Carrie Diaries" and "Summer and the City."
To this day, I find myself pouring a glass of wine and watching episode after episode of "Sex and the City," particularly when I need a little pick-me-up after a long, draining day. As I rewatch the episodes, I adore how open-minded Carrie is and her willingness to support others, even at the cost of her comfort. I can also relate to her ongoing quest for romance, often finding herself attracted to the same type of men. And, of course, her fashion was always top-tier
! I LOVE Carrie Bradshaw, flaws and all. Perhaps it's her relatable imperfections that draw me in the most.
Inspired by these two beloved fictional characters, I’ve decided to share my little corner of the world through my blog. It will include recommendations for movies and shows, my passion for cooking, and creating art with food, but mostly, it will focus on my experiences with mixed media art. So, if you enjoy any of these topics, I encourage you to subscribe, follow, like, share... do all the things to support me.
Thank you!
